When I use the login box and input my ID and password, it's showing that your ID name is not available. What could be the problem?

J
Answer by Julia Bocchetta

Windows Live Messenger is not available anymore. Microsoft acquired Skype and now the application is discontinued. The chat function was embedded into the new Skype. You can download Skype from its official website and use the ID to log-in because it will work. You will see your friends after the login is successful.

I've added a pack of pictures to my profile (photos section) and I would like to get rid of it as the photos are old and there's no point them being there. So how do I delete a pack of photos?

R
Answer by Robert Polubinski

For this procedure, you will have to be connected to the Internet. Start the application, and login to your account, then go to Tools > Options. Click on the Personal tab then Edit Profile. Once the profile loads in the default browser's window, click the photos menu and then delete the files. The changes will be automatically applied.

If you locally used the profile pictures, reinstall the messenger if you still have the package, because the new Live Messenger has been embedded into Skype.

In order to fix the issue, open your browser, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete key combination and delete all cache, cookies and temporary Internet files. Also, try to disable your antivirus firewall and go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings and make sure that the box below Proxy server is not checked. If it still doesn't work, try to use another Internet browser.

Yes, you will need a webcam utility to record a video. You can use any tool from the Software Informer database, but I suggest you try Debut Video Capture application. It is a free utility developed by NCH Software and beside the video recording tool it has many useful features. Once you install and run the program, click the Device icon and wait for the program to detect your webcam. After that, select the output video format, go to Options, choose a destination directory and enter a name for the file. To start the recording process, press the record button or hit the F5 key.

I suggest you uninstall the application using the instructions provided by Adobe Systems Incorporated. If this doesn't help, try Revo Uninstaller. Even if it can't uninstall the application normally, it will force it to uninstall by wiping out all traces of its presence from the system.

Why I can't use the imported skins on Windows Live Messenger?

A
Answer by Aiden McLeod

It seems that the developer Windows Live Messenger didn't released any skins for this product. Because of this, you might encounter compatibility issues while using un-official skins. However, Windows Live Messenger has been discontinued and replaced with Skype. I suggest to download the new program if you want to continue chatting with your friends. Visit the following website and follow the steps to import your contacts from the old product, into the new one.

I'm currently using Windows Live Messenger v8.5.1302.1018 and was informed by the Software Informer that it is an outdated version. I reinstalled it from the link provided but I still have the same version instead of v14.0.3921.717. What should I do?
